about

Marshmallow - MARSHMALLOW!
---
This is by far our most requested song these days. It's kind of a kick when after an evening of music you hear people from the audience singing one of the songs they heard. 90% of the time it's this one. At our regular restaurant and bar gigs the staff are always asking for this tune too. That's a good sign, right?!

On the surface the song is about being upset because you burned your marshmallow in the campfire. I guess that's it. Maybe it's about disappointment in general but with an upbeat take on it. LIke... hey, that's life.

Special shout out to Valentin Conus, our very special guest tenor saxophonist on this track!!

lyrics

Marshmallow (Marshmallow)
My Marshmallow
My Marshmallow
Squeeze it if please you but down it goes.

I play the sad cello (sad cello)
It was a sad cello
Because it burned yellow (burned yellow)
Heat it, don't repeat it. Down it goes.

And if you go on a camping trip
Remember this tasty tip.
You put in the fire on the end of a stick.
You blow it out quickly lest you burn your lip.

My Marshmallow (Marshmallow)
It was a long fellow (Longfellow)
But it burned yellow (burned yellow)
Squeeze it! Down it goes.

---
Marshmallow (Marshmallow)
Don't harsh my mellow (harsh my mellow)
It was a long fellow (Longfellow)
Heat it, don't repeat it. Down it goes.
